Not sure what to do with your dead laptop? Bring it to us. Working or not.
Drop it off
Have an old PC just taking up space? Huge old CRT TV you don't want to pay someone to haul away? Bring them to us.
We accept electronics of all kinds — phones, tablets, laptops, PCs, game systems, projectors, stereos, VCRs, cameras, whatever. Working or not.
Working or not
Old electronics are genuinely awkward to get rid of. CRTs in particular contain leaded glass, so most places either refuse them outright or charge you for the privilege — which is exactly why so many of them end up in a ditch or behind a shed for fifteen years.
We'd rather have them. Some of it gets repaired and finds a second owner. Some of it becomes parts that keep another machine alive. Some of it is genuinely interesting and ends up in the museum. The rest gets disposed of properly instead of badly.
If the device still works and has your data on it, you're welcome to wipe it first — and if you'd like a hand doing that, ask, because it's worth doing properly. If it doesn't power on, tell us, and we'll deal with the drive appropriately.
